KINGDOM
What is this kingdom?
May I draw close?
Each aspect of my spirit cries
Crying, yearning, seeking
Not yet fulfilled
How might I reach this kingdom?
Where may I dwell in peace?
Empty places are such a part of me
Inner longings, unfulfilled
Reaching for the deepest sea
Gentle breezes, stirring waters
Breath of life
Breathe in me
Wind of Your spirit contained in me
My heart cries out, “Let me be”
“Let me be found in thee”
Where is this kingdom that I see?
So elusive and yet so close
This King, this kingdom I want the most
Yet as I find you, I slip away
To cares, to snares throughout the day
Within resides the sinful beast
Upon who sin resides and feasts
Cast me not from your presence Lord
But lay me down my sinful thoughts
That I be found within as bought
A running river deep inside
Cleansing, cleaning of all my sin
Seek thee now while you may be found
I seek, I cry
I’m weak, not strong
Save me Lord for it’s you I long
Save me Lord and enter me
For it’s in me Lord your kingdom dwells
Over earth and calls of hell
Cleanse me now that I may find
King and kingdom
Eternity
Rest and peace
Inside of me
Just as I grasp
Just as I seek
Just as I turn and catch a glimpse
(I see so fleetingly)
You’re here, then there
You’re like the wind
Breathe in me and let me see
Your wind, Your Spirit, stirring me
No point, no turning, from the way
“It’s you, it’s you”, I cry throughout my day
It’s you I seek and you I’ll find
As Your nature renews my mind
Cast me not but in me dwell
A place
A place of no more sin
Kingdom.
