Background
In 2003 Kelowna, B.C. Canada had the most devastating forest fire in Canadian history. Displacing one-third of the population of the city in the height of it's blaze, the fire ended up destroy over 250 homes.
The Word
There was so much "revelation" coming in about what the fire meant, why it was happening - as I sought out the Lord for His truth I asked God to tell me if there was one thing that He wanted to share with His people, what would it be and He said, "Tell them I am interested in the state of their hearts." So people, God is interested in the state of your heart. Notice He did not say He was interested in the state of your ministry, or your bank account, or your house insurance, or anything else He is interested in the state of your heart.
One Fire That is Higher and It Is Not Yet Known but It Will Be
The fire in Kelowna was very symbolic. Years and years of neglect of old, dead growth that was left uncleaned and unchecked because those who were supposed to be friends of the park did not believe it needed to be cared for and cleaned up. Who believed that the old, dead wood of the past was not harmful. These friends of the park so loved the beauty of the forest that they actually brought about the final destruction of the forest they so loved. As for the trees well they just stood there in the midst of all the dead fall and decay looking glorious and beautiful oblivious of the danger of the environment they were standing in. However for all their beauty they were destroyed.
Let us not be like the forest or its keepers. That fire was the highest class of fire known to man, a class 6 but there is one fire that is higher and it is not yet known but it will be. It is a class 7. The fire of God. So when the fire of God comes, and I mean truly comes, let us be sure that we can stand.
I personally do not want to be found like the man in 1 Corinthians 3 who is seen barely escaping through the flames. Where everything that he had laid on top of the foundation of Christ was burnt up because it was of no spiritual value. He lost everything but he, himself, was saved barely escaping through the flames.
I would rather be tested in the fire and come out as pure gold. Did you know that absolutely pure gold is soft, almost fluid and transparent? It is all of the impurities, extra minerals/ores that cause its hardness. I would rather be like pure gold that can be poured out before the Lord.
