Living In The Sabbath Rest "Today" - Are we living in the sabbath? Are we living in the 'seventh' day? Do we see the completed work of Christ? Why would we as the church choose to believe that we are living in a day of incompleted work when in fact we have been invited into His rest? Why would we believe there is more to be done? Why would we choose to believe there is a limitation to our access to God, one with restrictions? As the church are we still in a place of needing protection from the wrath of God? If we do need this protection does this mean that we are still in the wilderness, wandering about in ways contrary to God and proclaiming His name as ours while our hearts are far from him? Why would we not instead lay hold of God's promise that we can enter His rest? Do we not remember that God has created the 'sabbath for man and not man for the sabbath?' (Jesus speaking in Mark 2:27).
A Man Under Authority - "I, also, am a man under authority, with soldiers under me" these words were spoken by the centurion whose faith Jesus commended as we see in Matthew 8:5-13. Why, from the few spoken words that came from the centurion, did Jesus marvel at his faith?
Cry Mercy - (Updated 2005)(An excerpt) So then, how is it possible that so much of what is being taught and caught as God's glory can be so common, while requiring little of us? Are we seeing the signs, the wonders of the revealed glory of God? As it says in the passages in 2 Samuel 6, as well as in 1 Chron 13, the people were really excited and they were celebrating with all their might before God with all sorts of songs and all various types of musical instruments as they welcomed the return of the ark to Jerusalem. These scriptures begin to form a picture of the excitement of the church of today, excited about the coming glory of the Lord. We read in Chronicles that David and his officers & commanders wanted to bring the ark back because they had not inquired of it, (that would be the Lord), during the reign of Saul and they all agreed it would be the right thing to do. However, they did not consecrate themselves first; they did not follow the very specific guidelines that God had set in place for the ark of His presence
